Basketball Game Preview: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. Cleveland Rams

The Middle Creek Mustangs will take on the Cleveland Rams in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Middle Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Middle Creek came up short against Holly Springs and fell 58-50. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Golden Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Despite their defeat, Middle Creek saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Yasir Hall, who posted 20 points and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. With that strong performance, Hall is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. George Daniels was another key player, putting up 15 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Cleveland came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Bengals 81-61. The Rams' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cleveland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Middle Creek, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.

Middle Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Cleveland in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 67-60. Does Middle Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cleveland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
