Crawford gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Hoover Cardinals 14-13. The win continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crawford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Collin Hunt, who picked up 118 receiving yards and one score. Hunt showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 66 yards.

Another reason for the win was Crawford's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up 0.5 apiece ( Abbel Martinez, Khalid Ali, Elemo Abdulkadir, and Johhny Ramirez also recorded half a sack).

Despite the loss, Hoover saw an underclassman step up: sophomore JShaun Trent forced one fumble and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Hoover, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Crawford will head out to square off against Morse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoover, they will venture away from home to face off against Patrick Henry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
