Softball Game Preview: Calvary Academy Warrior vs. Cumberland Christian Crusaders

The Calvary Academy Warrior will head out to square off against the Cumberland Christian Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Atlantic Christian hit Calvary Academy with a six-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warrior came up short against the Cougars, falling 13-4. The Warrior have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Calvary Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Baccale-Brignoni, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run. That run was Baccale-Brignoni's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Cumberland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 19-4 to LEAP Academy. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Calvary Academy suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-2. As for Cumberland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Calvary Academy took their victory against Cumberland Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-2 score. Will the Warrior repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
