Volleyball Recap: Mesilla Valley Christian School's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Santa Rosa on Saturday, Mesilla Valley Christian School came back down to earth. The SonBlazers fell just short of the Melrose Buffaloes by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The SonBlazers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Buffaloes from their previous meeting back in November of 2023.

Mesilla Valley Christian School took Melrose into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-15, 25-23, 17-25, 15-10.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mesilla Valley Christian School fell to 2-1. As for Melrose, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Mesilla Valley Christian School will face off against Reserve at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Melrose, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Tatum at 6:00 p.m. on September 11.
