Softball Recap: Simmons Comes Up Short

Simmons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 27-4 to the Greenville Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-5 last Thursday.

Simmons' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Greenville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Simmons will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Leland at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th. Greenville will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Leflore County at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th.
