Game recap: Union-Endicott high school football team wins back-and-forth affair over Corning

Union-Endicott (Endicott, N.Y.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as it ran for a touchdown with with 6:00 left in the third quarter, bringing the team to victory over Corning (N.Y.) 33-14.

After taking the lead on a passing touchdown, the Hawks went into halftime with a 14-13 lead. The Tigers took the lead for good with a rushing touchdown in the third quarter.

With the win Union-Endicott extended its winning streak to seven games. UE defeated the Patriots 43-21 last week.

JM Tokar played well for Corning. The senior running back kicked one extra point.

The Endicott school came into the game allowing 15.2 points per game. CHS's 14 points were right around its season average of 14.5 per game. The Hawks came in giving up 17.8 points per game this season.



The loss comes after Corning defeated Ithaca 38-12 last week. The loss snapped Corning's 2-game winning streak.

Corning (5-2) will play a non-conference game against Horseheads next week, while Union-Endicott (7-0) will take on Maine-Endwell also in a non-conference game.
