Baseball Game Preview: West Warriors vs. Palos Verdes Sea Kings

For the second straight game, West will face off against Palos Verdes. West will take on Palos Verdes at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. West's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Palos Verdes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, West turned things around against Palos Verdes on Wednesday. They skirted past the Sea Kings 4-2.

John Guilfoyle Jr. spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. West is 3-1 when Guilfoyle Jr. allowsthree or fewer earned runs, but 2-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Alberto Gomez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Ryu Uchida also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

West's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Palos Verdes, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
