Basketball Recap: Darian Hershberger and Isaac Underbakke Secure Win for Mabel-Canton

Mabel-Canton won the last time they faced Grand Meadow and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mabel-Canton Cougars walked away with a 57-49 win over the Grand Meadow Superlarks. The Cougars' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Mabel-Canton was led to victory by Isaac Underbakke and Darian Hershberger. Underbakke went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds, while Hershberger went 8 for 14 en route to 22 points and five boards. Those eight steals gave Underbakke a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Larson, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Mabel-Canton and bumps their season record up to 7-10. As for Grand Meadow, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Mabel-Canton has already played their next game, a 72-61 loss against Wabasha-Kellogg on the 31st. As for Grand Meadow, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 79-59 defeat against Houston on the 3rd.
