Basketball Recap: Eagle Valley Skates Past Battle Mountain with Ease

Eagle Valley's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Summit on Thursday. The Eagle Valley Devils simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Battle Mountain Huskies 55-26. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Devils as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Eagle Valley had a senior duo take command as Abby Talbot went 5 for 11 en route to 16 points in addition to six boards and four blocks and Zakia Shreeve posted ten points along with six rebounds and six steals. Talbot is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Mandeville, who earned ten points along with six boards and three steals.

Eagle Valley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10. As for Battle Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Glenwood Springs the next time they take the court. Battle Mountain will host Glenwood Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Eagle Valley will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th.
