Rockwall is 7-1 against Longview since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Rockwall Yellowjackets will challenge the Longview Lobos at 6:30 p.m.

Rockwall is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Royse City just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Bulldogs 41-37. The Yellowjackets were up 26-9 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, Longview waltzed into their game on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 50-43 victory over the Wildcats. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Wildcats are ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Longview's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. As for Rockwall, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Rockwall was able to grind out a solid victory over Longview in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, winning 57-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rockwall since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
