Softball Recap: Bainbridge Spartans vs. East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] Rivals

Bainbridge had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let the East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum] Rivals onto the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Monday. The win was just what Bainbridge needed coming off of a 13-7 loss in their prior match.

Sofia Peato made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Peato was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.

She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played. Clara Biggs was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Bainbridge's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for East Jefferson [Port Townsend/Chimacum], they dropped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Bainbridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Olympic at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
