Football Preview: Carroll Tigers vs. Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees

Carroll has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will host the Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row dating back to last season, Carroll finally turned things around against Calallen on Thursday. They managed a 27-21 win over the Wildcats.

Nick Cantu was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 232 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Ignacio Arellano was Cantu's top target, picking up 135 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Tuloso-Midway put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Hebbronville at home to the tune of 34-6. 34 seems to be a good number for the Warriors & Cherokees as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Damian Figueroa was his usual excellent self, rushing for 222 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Joaquin Trevino, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

Carroll's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Tuloso-Midway, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
