Baseball Recap: Cherry Wins Going Away Against Mountain Iron-Buhl

Cherry got themselves on the board against Mountain Iron-Buhl on Tuesday, but Mountain Iron-Buhl never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Rangers with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Tigers have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Noah Asuma made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Asuma was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Cherry let Caiden Pittman and Jack Michels run wild. Pittman went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Michels went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Pittman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Peterson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Cherry and bumps their season record up to 3-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain Iron-Buhl, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Cherry will face off against Littlefork-Big Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain Iron-Buhl, they will take on Chisholm at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
