USA basketball team finishes 7th in Germany

Americans beat France 87-81 as Derrick Walton Jr. has 20 points and 5 steals.

The USA defeated France 87-81 on Saturday to finish seventh during the 26th Albert Schweitzer Basketball Tournament in Mannheim, Germany.

Derrick Walton Jr of  Chandler Park Academy (Harper Woods, Mich.) led the Americans with 20 points and five steals. Four others scored between 10 and 11 points. 

Earlier in the week, the USA was beaten by Spain 82-71 and Russia 98-78. Stephen Clark of Douglass (Oklahoma City, Okla.) poured in 38 points against Russia and had 25 against Spain.

Spain won the championship with a 76-65 victory over Serbia.
