Orange proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 14) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Chagrin Falls Tigers 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-13 back in April.
Clare Hess spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Kelsey Lewis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Korland, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Orange's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6. As for Chagrin Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Orange is set to face off against their familiar foe Beachwood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls will take on rival Hawken at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
