Baseball Game Preview: Wheelersburg Pirates vs. South Point Pointers

The Wheelersburg Pirates will challenge the South Point Pointers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Wheelersburg managed to slip by Buckeye Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Wheelersburg came up short against Buckeye Valley on Saturday, falling 8-2.

Wheelersburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Picklesimer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, South Point didn't have quite enough to beat Minford on Saturday and fell 3-2.

South Point's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wheelersburg, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.

Wheelersburg took their win against South Point in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 14-3. Will Wheelersburg repeat their success, or does South Point has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
