Soccer Game Preview: Zephyrhills vs. Sunlake

Zephyrhills hasn't had much luck against Sunlake recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Zephyrhills Bulldogs will head out to face off against the Sunlake Seahawks at 7:30 p.m.

Zephyrhills is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Friday. They lost 8-0 to Pasco. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the Pirates are ranked 276th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sunlake). Everything went their way against Cypress Creek on Friday as Sunlake made off with a 6-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Zephyrhills' loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Sunlake, their win bumped their record up to 6-1-2.

Zephyrhills might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Sunlake in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Zephyrhills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
