Basketball Recap: Elsberry Victorious

The third road match was the charm for Elsberry, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against the Van-Far Indians by a score of 38-26 on Monday. Elsberry has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Van-Far, too.

Van-Far's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Chloe Zumwalt, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards, and Elliott Utterback, who posted 12 points and three steals. That was a full 46.2% of Van-Far's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-5. As for Van-Far, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Elsberry will challenge Louisiana at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Louisiana will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Elsberry surely won't give up without a fight. Van-Far has already played their next game, a 53-18 defeat against South Shelby on the 14th.
