Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Catelin James and Mia Etsitty Lead Window Rock to Victory

There's no place like home for Window Rock, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Ganado Hornets on Wednesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. For the Fighting Scouts, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Window Rock not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Ganado between 18 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-18.

Leading Window Rock to victory were Mia Etsitty and Catelin James. Etsitty had ten digs, while James had eight assists and five digs. Etsitty has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played. Taylor Largie also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Despite the defeat, Ganado saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cheyenne Denetso had 13 digs.

Window Rock pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Ganado, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 14-12.

Window Rock has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Tuba City on the 11th. As for Ganado, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Chinle on the 14th.
