Monroe had won two straight games and Janiyah Boyd did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Monroe Redhawks blew past the Anson Bearcats 59-33 thanks in part to Boyd, who went 13 of 22 to rack up 29 points in addition to eight assists and five steals. Her evening made it 14 games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

Another player making a difference was Dezire Hailey, who posted four points and eight rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Anson lost, don't look at Za'Kiah Hixson. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Monroe's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Anson, they dropped their record down to 8-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Monroe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-61 defeat against Parkwood on the 5th. As for Anson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-33 loss against Piedmont on the 6th.
