Baseball Game Preview: Livingston Wolves vs. Ceres Bulldogs

The Livingston Wolves will challenge the Ceres Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Livingston hasn't scored more than two runs for six games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Livingston's tournament run continued when they took on St. Joseph Notre Dame on Wednesday. The Wolves lost 11-1 to the Pilots. That's two games in a row now that the Wolves have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ceres). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Delhi a 17-0 shutout on Thursday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Aiden Maines was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Trevino, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Ceres is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Livingston, their loss dropped their record down to 8-16.

Livingston beat Ceres 6-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2020. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
