Volleyball Recap: Austin Prep Takes a Loss

Austin Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Phillips Exeter Academy Lions. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Lions when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-15.

Austin Prep's offense was headlined by Olivia Neal and Abigail Turner, who picked up four kills apiece. They were helped by Allison Byrnes and Riley McBride, who contributed six assists each. Finally, Turner was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Austin Prep now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Phillips Exeter Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Austin Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Mount St. Charles Academy on the 1st. Phillips Exeter Academy has also already played their next match (against Dana Hall), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
