Basketball Preview: Felicity-Franklin Cardinals vs. East Clinton Astros
The Felicity-Franklin Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the East Clinton Astros at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Felicity-Franklin is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Felicity-Franklin pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Williamsburg. While losing is never fun, Felicity-Franklin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 655th, while the Wildcats are ranked 170th).
Despite their loss, Felicity-Franklin saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Landen Forbes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Jace Blackburn was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, East Clinton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 62-40 defeat at the hands of Manchester.
Felicity-Franklin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for East Clinton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
Felicity-Franklin was able to grind out a solid victory over the Astros in their previous matchup back in January, winning 55-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Felicity-Franklin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
