Crestview had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They pulled ahead with a 54-53 photo finish over the Versailles Tigers.

Crestview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ellie Kline out in front who went 7 for 17 on her way to 24 points and six assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Kline has scored at least a third of Crestview's points. Kaci Gregory was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 15 points.

Crestview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Versailles, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7.

The future could be bright for both Crestview and Versailles: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Crestview will try to hand Shawnee their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Versailles will look to extend St. John's 18-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
