Volleyball Recap: ELLE Mccarville Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Moon Valley

If Moon Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Shadow Mountain, they should've done a better job of containing SOPHIA LOPEZ. The Matadors came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 3-1 on Thursday for which the team can thank LOPEZ, who had 17 digs and five aces. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Shadow Mountain was especially dominant in the third set. The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 25-13, 25-19.

Shadow Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but ELLE McCARVILLE led the charge by getting 14 kills, six digs, and one block. ARIE MARCHELLI was another key player, getting three digs and two aces.

Shadow Mountain was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.

Shadow Mountain's record is now 11-15. As for Moon Valley, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.

As of now, neither Shadow Mountain nor the Rockets have any future games scheduled.
