Recap: Raymond Seagulls vs. Ilwaco Fishermen
The Raymond Seagulls suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Ilwaco, falling 71-41. While losing is never fun, Raymond can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Ilwaco is ranked 104th).
Despite the defeat, Raymond had strong showings from Talan Yearout, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds, and Chris Banker, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Raymond's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Ilwaco, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Raymond will head out on the road to face off against Aberdeen at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Aberdeen is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Ilwaco, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tenino at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Tenino's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
