Baseball Recap: Sheffield Starts Season with Victory Against Trezevant

Sheffield had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Trezevant Bears on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Sheffield's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kamauri Whitley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Trezevant fell to 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheffield will take on Bolton in a tournament on Monday. As for Trezevant, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Melrose at 12:30 p.m.
