Basketball Game Preview: Christiansburg Blue Demons vs. Carroll County Cavaliers

The Christiansburg Blue Demons will take on the Carroll County Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Christiansburg and four for Carroll County.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-35, which was the final score in Christiansburg's tilt against Pulaski County on Friday.

Meanwhile, Carroll County lost to Martinsville on the road by a 39-23 margin on Friday.

Christiansburg will have to keep a close watch on Cc Mitchell and Callie Harris, a pair of players who had a big impact on Carroll County's prior game. Mitchell posted eight points, while Harris earned four points. Mitchell is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played. Kenzey McMillian also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Christiansburg's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Carroll County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-19.

Christiansburg strolled past Carroll County when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 50-33. Will Christiansburg repeat their success, or does Carroll County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
