Tynen Greer and DJ Payne provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Ambridge. The longest such play in WPIAL AAA Parkway this season, the connection resulted in 73 yards.
West Allegheny extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Central Valley, 13-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Indians.
Greer threw for 172 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 10-16 with 1 interception.
DiMontae Bronaugh was the best running back in the league this week. In 35 carries, he ran for 174 yards as Hopewell beat the Bridgers. Teammate Tyler Ishman added to the ground attack by rushing for 43 yards.
On the heels of Andrew Koester and Chayse Dillon, West Allegheny has had great success on offense. Koester is tops in the league in passing with 460 yards, while Dillon has rushed for 513 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Spartans' Payne, with 279 yards on 13 catches.
A big matchup in WPIAL AAA Parkway this week will be when Moon Area takes on the Warriors. The Tigers are currently in third, while Central Valley is in fourth.
New Castle took down Chartiers Valley 47-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
