North Gaston had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 27-run drubbing they dealt Huss on Monday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 28-1 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Caleb Cloninger looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).

North Gaston is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Huss, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-17.

North Gaston has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Highland Tech on the 22nd. As for Huss, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-3 victory against Ashbrook on the 22nd.
