Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Comes Up Short

Santa Fe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 61-31 loss at the hands of the La Serna Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Chiefs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1086th, while the Lancers are ranked 389th).

Santa Fe's record now sits at 5-16. As for La Serna, their win bumped their record up to 13-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe has already played their next matchup (against California), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. La Serna will head out on the road to take on El Rancho at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Rancho knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully La Serna likes a good challenge.
