Baseball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Hamilton and Hightstown meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Hornets fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1. The match marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hamilton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.25 runs. As for Hightstown, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Hamilton will face off against Montgomery at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hightstown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nottingham at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
