Volleyball Recap: West Caldwell Comes Up Short

West Caldwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Wilkes Central Eagles, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2022.

While West Caldwell was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-19.

Madison Abernathy paced West Caldwell's offense, picking up six kills. Abernathy were helped by Karley Kirby and Zariah Butler, who contributed seven assists each. Abernathy was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

West Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, West Caldwell will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. As for Wilkes Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Hibriten at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
