Baseball Game Preview: Orosi Cardinals vs. Delano Tigers

The Orosi Cardinals will venture away from home to take on the Delano Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Orosi is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Orosi had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Summit Charter Collegiate Academy on Tuesday. The Cardinals blew past the Bears 11-1.

Micheal Lopez looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Christopher Lopez, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Orosi's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-9-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Moses Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Orosi kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Delano came up short against Kennedy on Thursday, falling 15-5. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Orosi's record is now 7-9-1. As for Delano, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
