Basketball Recap: Orangeville Piles Up the Points Against Durand

Orangeville won the last time they faced Durand and things went their way on Thursday too. The Orangeville Broncos claimed a resounding 66-20 win over the Durand Bulldogs. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Durand had strong showings from Maddy Moore, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points, and Aurora Hilton, who posted a point in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Moore has posted since back in November of 2024.

Orangeville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Durand, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-16.

Orangeville will be playing at home against Pearl City at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Orangeville will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Durand, they will head out to challenge Warren at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Warren has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
