Basketball Recap: Vail Christian Takes a Loss

On Friday, the Vail Christian Saints came up short against the Vail Mountain Gore Rangers and fell 32-23. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vail Mountain's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Adochio, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Adochio is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Marston, who put up three points along with 13 boards and six steals.

Vail Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Vail Mountain, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-6.

Vail Christian will venture away from home to face off against West Grand at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. West Grand will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Vail Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Vail Mountain, they and Caprock Academy will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Vail Mountain is facing Caprock Academy at the right time seeing as Caprock Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
