Football Recap: Chopticon Comes Up Short

Chopticon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 28-0 defeat at the hands of the Westlake Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 47th).

Chopticon's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Westlake, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Chopticon will square off against Calvert at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers' defense has only allowed 5.8 points per game this season, so the Braves' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Westlake, they are taking a road trip to square off against St. Charles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wolverines 13.5, St. Charles 13) so any points scored will be well earned.
