Football Game Preview: Yale Bulldogs vs. Drumright Tornadoes

The Yale Bulldogs will face off against the Drumright Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Yale strolled past Depew with points to spare, taking the game 32-16. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won five in a row.

Yale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Teter out in front who threw for 233 yards and one touchdown while completing 78.3% of his passes. Teter's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bulldogs' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

Another reason for the win was Yale's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ben Whitsett and Levi Benjamin, who racked up four sacks between them. Whitsett is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season.

Drumright played against Porum on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Yale's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Drumright, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
