Kayla Goodridge made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Nestor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Savanna Barrett, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Framingham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Marlborough beat Algonquin Regional 9-5 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Kaitlyn Cabral was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Seder, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one double.
Framingham pushed their record up to 3-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Marlborough, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Marlborough's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Framingham has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Marlborough, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Framingham's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
