Baseball Recap: Durant Has No Trouble Against Mcalester

Durant hadn't done well against McAlester recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Durant Lions put the hurt on the McAlester Buffaloes with a sharp 15-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-4 last Monday.

Durant got a massive performance out of Jared Avalos, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Avalos a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Holdan Robinson, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Durant and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for McAlester, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Durant Lions challenge Pryor Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McAlester, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-1 victory against Hugo on the 6th.
