Recap: Spring Grove Lions vs. Turkey Valley Trojans
The Spring Grove Lions had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They walked away with a 48-40 win over Turkey Valley.
Spring Grove found their leader in underclassman Kinley Soiney, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Soiney is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Ingvalson, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Spring Grove's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. As for Turkey Valley, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Spring Grove won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Schaeffer Academy at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th. Schaeffer Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 317th, while Spring Grove is ranked 134th). As for Turkey Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Central at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
