Ridge View has gone 8-0 against Lugoff-Elgin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Ridge View Blazers will host the Lugoff-Elgin Demons at 6:00 p.m. Ridge View will be strutting in after a win while Lugoff-Elgin will be coming in after a loss.

Last Monday, Ridge View made easy work of Jackson Day and carried off a 68-47 victory. Given the Blazers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 34th in South Carolina, while the Mariners are ranked 207th in North Carolina), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lugoff-Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Spring Valley and fell 84-31.

Ridge View will have to keep a close watch on Erin Manuel and Teryn Hobson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Lugoff-Elgin's prior game. Manuel posted four points and seven rebounds, while Hobson scored six points along with 12 boards and six assists. Hobson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played.

Even though they lost, Lugoff-Elgin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Ridge View is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Lugoff-Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Everything came up roses for Ridge View against Lugoff-Elgin in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured an 82-44 win. In that game, Ridge View amassed a halftime lead of 44-23, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
