Softball Recap: St. Ursula Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

St. Ursula Academy took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Regina, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Arrows won by a run and slipped past Regina 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Arrows as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Brooke Bowers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Bowers was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Witek, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

St. Ursula Academy's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 8-13. As for Regina, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Ursula Academy will host Swanton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Regina, they will challenge L'Anse Creuse North at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
