5A North Metro recap Oct. 30, 2012
Ralston Valley extended the longest winning streak in 5A North Metro this week by beating Legacy, 44-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Mustangs.
Fairview took down Boulder 63-21 last week, the largest margin of any game. Anders Hill threw for 306 yards and six touchdowns and ran for 52 yards in the win.
Chris Marquez was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 142 yards on 21 carries as Pomona beat the Panthers. Konner Burns also contributed to the rushing game with 52 yards on the ground.
Frazier was the best wideout in the league this week as Fairview topped Boulder. Frazier tallied two receptions for 101 yards. Owen Harris helped Fairview's passing attack out by catching three balls for 87 yards.
Tom Mccartney's team's Johnny Feauto and Sam Martin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 5A North Metro in both passing and receiving yards. Feauto has thrown for 2305 yards this season, while Martin, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 67 catches for 1118 yards. Phydell Paris from the Lightning leads the league in rushing with 1140 yards.
The Knights' Cole Scheifele needs only 98 receiving yards against Grandview to crack 1,000 for the season. He has recorded 57 catches for 902 yards this year.
Fairview led the league in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on Jeff Santee's team. Hill in the win.
