Baseball Game Preview: Granada Hills Charter Highlanders vs. El Camino Real Royals

For the second straight game, Granada Hills Charter will face off against El Camino Real. The Highlanders will challenge the Royals at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Granada Hills Charter is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Friday, they were much more limited against El Camino Real on Tuesday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royals.

For El Camino Real's part, Christian Gastelum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits. Gastelum has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, El Camino Real saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shane Bogacz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Another was Troy Shaw, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

El Camino Real hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five strikeouts batters in five consecutive contests.

El Camino Real's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Granada Hills Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
