Basketball Recap: Hernando Tigers vs. Southaven Chargers
Hernando was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 67-50 to the Southaven Chargers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-45 on January 9th.
Caden Johnson was nothing short of spectacular for Southaven: he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in rebounds. Cameron Hammond was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and five boards.
Hernando's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Southaven, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.
Hernando wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 84-55 loss against Olive Branch on the 25th. As for Southaven, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against DeSoto Central at 7:30 p.m. Southaven is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season.
