While Parkway West's win against Ladue Horton Watkins wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Longhorns narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Longhorns in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won seven in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Parkway West who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 22-25, 25-18, 18-25, 15-6.

Katie Byergo paced Parkway West's offense, picking up 19 kills. Byergo got some help from Elle Lanfersieck and her 33 assists. Lyla Surtin controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Parkway West's victory bumped their record up to 17-10-3. As for Ladue Horton Watkins, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Parkway West and Ladue Horton Watkins will both be playing Parkway Central the next time they take the court. The Longhorns will host the Colts at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Rams will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
