Baseball Recap: Reavis Snags Ninth Win in Last 12 Games

Reavis won the last time they faced Tinley Park and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rams walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Titans. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly three runs.

Robert Soto made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tino Villagomez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Reavis has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tinley Park, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reavis will challenge Riverside-Brookfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.3, the Bulldogs 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Tinley Park, they are taking a road trip to challenge Richards at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
