Soccer Game Preview: Wasco vs. Shafter

The Wasco Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Shafter Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wasco will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Wasco gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Taft.

Wasco hit Taft with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Arianna Bernal, Giselle Torres, Brittney Urena, and Jayleen Aviles.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Shafter made sure to put some goals up on the board against Kennedy on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Thunderbirds as they made off with a 4-1 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Wasco has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those six matches. As for Shafter, they now have a winning record of 4-3-3.

Wasco skirted past Shafter 2-1 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Does Wasco have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shafter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
