Preview: Broomfield vs. Pine Creek
Pine Creek will take on Broomfield in each of the teams' fourth playoff contest on Saturday. Averaging 45.67 points per matchup, the Pine Creek squad has been an offensive juggernaut in the playoffs, so hopefully Broomfield's defense is prepared for a test.
Pine Creek got themselves on the board against Pueblo West last week, but Pueblo West never followed suit. Pine Creek was the clear victor by a 34 to nothing margin over Pueblo West. They got scores from Gavin Herberg, Gradon Miller, and Elias Rogers. This makes it five games in a row in which Herberg has produced a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Broomfield earned some more postseason success in their game last week. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Dakota Ridge 17-15. Caden Peters had a stellar game for Broomfield as he rushed for 194 yards and two TDs on 26 carries. Peters has made a name for himself in Broomfield's last 13 games, proving himself to be a reliable offensive weapon.
